National Conference On
Significance of Decision-Making in
Global Business Scenario
30th March, 2012 A Report.
National Institute of Management studies, a stand alone Business
School under the Hindustan group of educational Institutions,
Chennai successfully hosted its First National Conference
on "SIGNIFICANCE OF DECISION MAKING IN GLOBAL BUSINESS
SCENARIO" on 30th March' 2012 (Friday). The Conference
was inaugurated seeking the blessings of the Almighty and
with lighting of "kuthuvilakku" by the dignitaries.
Our Director Dr. G.Srikanth briefed the audience on the Conference
theme. Our Chairperson of the Hindustan Group of Institutions
Dr. Elizabeth Verghese gave the presidential address and elaborated
how significant decisions are for a business.
The Chief Guest for the Conference Mr.VGS.Rajesh, Director,
VGP Golden Beach Resort, highlighted decisions from his personal
and business life and the factors which made VGP a success.
Dr. T. Rengaraja, Principal, KCG College of Technology addressed
the audience on the significance of decision-making. Mr. K.Srikanth,
M.D Southern Jute Industries Pvt. Ltd., Chennai and Presenter,
Kalaignar TV, Chennai and session chair for the Conference
impressed the audience with his speech packed with humour
and the message of "Think Different to excel."
The Conference proceeding was released in the form of book
by Dr. Elizabeth Verghese and the first copy was handed over
to the Chief Guest Mr.VGS.Rajesh.
The day witnessed many interesting presentations from the
delegates of the Conference ranging from significant decisions
related to Social Networking to Space Tourism. The Valedictory
session was headed by Dr.Ramanathan, Director, School Of Business
Studies, Hindustan University, Chennai. He highlighted the
conference theme in his speech and gave away certificates
and proceedings to the Presentators. It was also the moment
of recognition of our Best Student. Prashanth Jayakkar, II
MBA was awarded the Best Outgoing Student Award for his active
participation in and contribution to various events and activities
of the Institute. The Conference concluded with Vote of Thanks
by Dr.S.Subramanian, Conference Co-Ordinator and with the
resolution to bring out the next year's Conference with more
grandeur.
